FINALLY!!! I’ve been trying to find one of these! I find it funny.
I’m an interpreter, but I’m also Deaf. I’m not sure I agree with “What I think I do” being Superman. Interpreters don’t save our lives. It seem to me that “What I think I do” isn’t far from “What society thinks I do.”
The Helper Model is old and outdated. So… why Superman?
I think interpreters are awesome, don’t get me wrong. I have great respect for what they do (especially since I’ve become one myself)… But I don’t think of them as being “my hero.”
